Having access to a localised advisory which provides metereological, soil and other information is helpful for farmers. However, creating such actionable information flows is complex since the data comes from multiple sources and is present in many forms. A DPI pilot was developed in collaboration with ILRI, Sanketika and One CGIAR which demonstrates a scalable way to generate location and crop specific agro-advisories which are rooted in scientific knowledge. This DPI pilot leverages open source Sunbird building blocks, Observer (Obsrv) & Librarian (Knowlg) to connect to climate and weather datasets from IMD and other global weather data sets like CHIPRS, TAMSAT and GFS. An information dashboard and a chatbot for farmers is also avilable as part of the pilot.
